Conneaut School District
Graduation Project Overview

Conneaut School District’s graduation project is building a portfolio to showcase a student’s strengths, interests, service, and career exploration.

  • This portfolio will be divided into four sections: Curriculum,  Personal Interest, Service to School and Community, and Career Exploration.
  • The student will add selections to each section of the portfolio that document the successful completion of the minimum grade-level requirements established by the district and stated in this manual.   A student may include more selections.
  • Each selection in the Curriculum, Personal Interest, and Service to School and Community sections must include a completed portfolio entry form.
  • Samples forms are included in the Conneaut School District Manual and are available here on Conneaut School District's Web Page (http://connwww.iu5.org/gradmanual.html).
  • The final portfolio must be organized as follows:
      Overall Portfolio Cover Sheet
(include title, student’s name, and graduation year)
      Portfolio Table of Contents
        Curriculum
        Personal Interest
        Service to School and Community
        Career Exploration
Overall Reflection and/or Oral Presentation Notes
Section Headings and Section Table of Contents

Section 1 –  Curriculum Table of Contents
Section 2 –  Personal Interest Table of Contents
Section 3 –  Service to School and Community
                   Table of Contents
Section 4 –  Career Exploration Table of Contents

  • Each senior must orally present the graduation project, which is the completed portfolio, to a review committee.  Any student, whose portfolio or presentation is rejected, will have an opportunity to make the recommended changes and present it a second time.
  • Adaptations will be made for students who have IEPs or enter the district after grade 9.
  • STUDENTS WHO DO NOT COMPLETE THE GRADE LEVEL REQUIREMENTS WILL NOT BE PROMOTED TO THE NEXT GRADE.
